Online threats – phishing

PHISHING is a common method in which scammers send fake emails that look like they come from trusted sources (e.g. banks, government offices).

How the scammers work:

1) Fake links and attachments: Scammers send messages with links to fake websites or attachments designed to phish for sensitive information, such as passwords, credit card numbers.

2) Inducing a sense of urgency: Emails often contain information about account problems, the need to update data immediately, or warnings about suspicious activity.
